anfangen ist leicht, beharren eine kunst.
“the world was made good for you,” claudia warner told her newborn son on the november night he came into the world. misspoken words in retrospect but, at the time, her optimism couldn’t be blamed; not three weeks before, the world watched as the berlin wall met its demise and crumbled to the ground. claudia thanked god as she kissed knox’s forehead that this was the germany, united and free of oppression, that her baby would grow up in.

kurt wagner (nightcrawler) Basic Information
Born to Azazel, a Neyaphem Mutant claiming to be the inspiration for Satan, and the shape-shifting mutant terrorist Mystique, Kurt Wagner was abandoned at birth due to his demonic appearance. Miraculously, the baby survived and was saved by Margali Szardos, a sorceress and gypsy queen, who became a fortuneteller at Herr Getmann's Traveling Menagerie. Wagner was never legally adopted by anyone but was raised within the circus with people who had no prejudices against "freaks" save for the ringmaster, Herr Max Getmann. Long before his teleportation power emerged, Wagner had tremendous natural agility and by his adolescence he had become the circus's star acrobat and aerial artist. Circus audiences assumed that he was a normal-looking human being wearing a demon-like costume. After being caged like an animal and almost sold by Getmann, Kurt fled from the circus, accidentally setting it on fire during his ecsape. Years later he was saved by Professor Charles Xavier, who located Kurt to recruit him to the X-Men. Kurt has been fighting for the peaceful coexistence of mutants and humans most of his life.
